Embracing Winter and a Giveaway

February 7, 2020

Hello blog friends.

I hope you're having a good week.

Do you feel like winter is just dragging on and on?

Well, we have been very lucky in my neck of the woods and only had a few inches of snow in November.

I took these photos a few years ago on a visit to Union Square, New York City.  It snowed that day and I was able to capture these photos.

Well, one of the ways that I like to embrace the winter is by reading a good book and a cup of hot tea.

I also enjoy going to my monthly meetups with my knitting friends.  I started making a knit cowl a month ago at our meet up.

I am happy to say that I finished knitting the cowl yesterday.

I would like to giveaway to one of you my handmade knitted cowl with a few other goodies to help embrace the winter.

  2. hi Julie, I agree, nothing like a good book and something hot to sip on! Your cowl is a nice quick project and I'm sure it keeps one nice and warm...don't enter me in the giveaway though, we rarely need things like that in the South, thankfully!!

  3. Well Julie, I wish it could drag on for more here. We've just had snow a couple of days ago for the first time this year and it melted too soon. The unreasonably warm weather we've been having since November had an almost apocalyptic feel and I hated that, so more snow for me please!

  4. What a lovely giveaway, Julie. I almost feel guilty entering since I've been the lucky recipient of one of your crochet giveaways. I love my prizes! In winter, I sit with my hot water...that's about as much embracing I can muster. I'm a summer loving gal. ;)

  6. Nice giveaway Julie. I really cannot complain we have had a pretty mild winter and not a lot of snow. The worse is the days on end of no sunshine. That is the hardest for me. They are predicting early Spring so I hope that is true. Have a great weekend.
    Hugs,

  7. Lovely giveaway Julie. Winter has been kind of mild. Some cold days, which I just stay in and make winter soups. Also fighting the winter head cold I seem to get every year. Happy Saturday. Hugs

  9. Well I was about to be clever and say we chase summers to avoid winter! But would you believe we're in the middle of an Aussie Summer here in Melbourne and had a massive tropical storm and now have hail damage on the car, so I sympathise! Here's to Spring arriving soon!

  10. Another winter in Florida and I miss all that gleaming white in the sunshine and new snowflakes are I would dance with each snowflake when snow came again. It has been cold here so the only thing I have been missing is a real winter and hopefully someday enjoy a walk in the snow once more. Hopefully spring is just around the corner.

  11. I really don't mind winter here in Texas, Julie! In fact for me, I actually embrace it because it's a relief from the brutal summer. What a sweet giveaway!

  12. Hi Julie...I love winter. Kind of sad that it is just foggy and rainy...love a good, cold winter. Time for soup, and tea, and good books. I just listened to the audio version of Meet Me in Monaco and really enjoyed it. My husband and I traveled over the holidays on a cruise and one stop was in Monaco...so I loved hearing descriptions of all the places we visited!
