Happy Easter 2018 and Spaghetti Pie Recipe

March 28, 2018

Spaghetti Pie

Hello everyone.  I hope you are all having a good week.  Are you all getting prepared and ready to celebrate Easter?

Well, when Easter time arrives I love making Spaghetti Pie for our family.

I usually make this spaghetti pie each year as it was a tradition to eat in my husbands family.  My husband's mom and dad used to make this pie and other foods for a traditional Italian Easter dinner.

Many years ago when Easter time would arrive we would go visit my husband's Aunt who loved to make this pie for family and friends.  She would be in her kitchen making so many pies and would always save us spaghetti pie and a meat pie to bring home to eat with our Easter dinner.

I was so interested in making this pie myself and happy when my husband's aunt decided to share the recipe with me.  This recipe makes a large pan and enough to serve at least 12 people.

I hope you all enjoy this pie as much as my family does.

Spaghetti Pie

Recipe by Julie @ Julie's Creative Lifestyle
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 1 hour
Total time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Ingredients
  • 1 pound cooked spaghetti
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup Pecorino Romano cheese
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper (you can use less)
  • 1 cup milk
Cooking Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Let spaghetti cool before mixing. Mix all ingredients together. Spray a large pan with cooking spray. Add everything to the pan. Add little dabs of butter to the top of the pie. Bake for 1 hour. Let cool before cutting pie into pieces.
NOTE:  This recipe calls for milk, but I substituted it with Almond milk.

  8. My mom used to make something similar to this that we called spaghetti mac-n-chese (before we realized that macaroni was the name of the pasta! I was little...) It looks so similar and sounds so yummy. I'll definitely be saving this recipe for later. Thank you!
