I Have Received an Award!

May 1, 2014

Back in January I was awarded with a Liebster Award from a blog friend and follower Cathy from Curious as a Cathy but I had to turn it down due to certain life circumstances.  I thank you Cathy for that nomination.  If you have a chance please visit Cathy's wonderful blog.  She also has an awesome music link party on Monday and on Wednesday she has Wordless Wednesday.

I have been awarded again by Joanita from Creative Crochet Workshop and thanks so much for the award.  Joanita is a talented crochet designer and please take a look at her lovely blog.  Thanks for the fun questions you made up for me too.

Here is a list of the rules that I need to follow as well as the 11 bloggers that I choose:

1) Post 11 random facts about yourself
2) Answer 11 questions the awarding blogger has posted for you
3) Nominate 11 bloggers (with less than 200 followers) for the award and link them in your post
4) Create 11 questions the nominated bloggers have to answer
5) Let the nominated bloggers know they were nominated

The Liebster Award is given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers.  The meaning of Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.  Blogging is about building a community and it's a great way to connect with other bloggers and help spread the word about new bloggers/blogs.

Makeup Monday - CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion

April 28, 2014

Welcome to Makeup Monday on Julie's Lifestyle.  Each Monday I will post about a certain type of makeup, nail polish, face or hair product etc.  It will be a fun place to come visit about anything to do with beauty.

Week 16 - CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion

Hello Ladies, we are back here again for Makeup Monday and I'm already on Week 16!  I'm going to talk about moisturizers today.  For years I have been using from Clinique the moisturizer Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion.  This is what it looks like:

You may all be familiar with this moisturizing lotion.  This lotion is about $26 dollars for a 4.2 fl. oz. bottle.

I changed creams to CeraVe about a year ago and I love it!

The reason why I changed to CeraVe is because a year ago I was in my dermatologist's office and they had samples of it and I took it home to try.  I love this lotion because it glides on easy and it has no perfume smell to it.  It is dermatologist recommended and to read more about this amazing lotion you can click HERE.  The cost of the CeraVe is about $12.99 for a 12 fl. oz. bottle.  You get more for your money and it last longer too.  There is no fancy bottle but I like that this also has a pump to easily apply the lotion.  You can find CeraVe in Duane Reade, CVS, and Rite Aid stores.

Please try this out and let me know what you think and if you liked it.  You will not be disappointed.

I would like to introduce you to two people that love makeup, beauty, and style.

1)  Kat from Confessions of the Perfect Mom.  I was introduced to her by Laura who blogs at Over the Apple Tree.  Kat has a beauty and fashion blog party every Monday called Monday Morning Makeup Madness if any of you are interested in joining.

2)  Deborah from The Beautiful Matters has a review on the book Toss the Gloss by Andrew Q. Robinson.  She also likes to blog about beauty and style and everything beautiful.

If you get a chance please take a look at their lovely blogs.

Thanks so much for stopping by this week and see you next week for Makeup Monday.  If you missed any you can find them HERE.

Marinated Steak Recipe

April 25, 2014

Do you like steak?  Everyone in my family sure does.  If you want an easy way of flavoring your steak than I have the perfect way by using Teriyaki Sauce.

By marinating your steak in teriyaki sauce it gives it an awesome taste and flavor.  I usually marinate the steak for a day and then broil the steak in the oven during the winter months.  For summer we usually have the marinated steak on the outdoor grill.  I made this dish recently with potatoes and asparagus, but you can use whatever you like with the steak.

I hope that I have inspired you try this out sometime and let me know how you liked it.

I really enjoyed and had fun reading each every one of your lovely comments.

Now onto my Makeup tip for this week.

Week 15 - Sunscreen Lotion

My makeup tip that I want to share with you this week is sunscreen.  Sunscreen is so important to use now that the weather is getting warmer for spring and summer.  It's important to wear sunscreen lotion before you apply makeup or you can use foundation, BB, or CC cream which has sunscreen in it already.  It's also important to wear sunscreen when going to the beach or doing any outside activity and applying it throughout the day.  It is so easy to get a sunburn when you do not use any type of sunscreen lotion.

There are so many different brands of sunscreen available and I like to use Neutrogena and Coopertone.  The SPF I usually like to use is SPF 15 to SPF 45 and I use a separate one made especially for faces.

What sunscreen lotion do you like to use?
