Hello blog friends. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
This year I will be giving out mini chocolates to the trick-or-treaters.
We like dressing Bosco in different costumes each year. Bosco was dressed as a pumpkin two years ago.
Last year Bosco wore his Super Dog costume. He mostly stayed in his bed and didn't even get up when the door bell rang with trick-or-treaters.
Bosco will wear his pumpkin costume again this year.
I hope you have a Happy Halloween and don't eat too much candy!

Hello friends and Happy Halloween!

This year at my house I will be giving out Halloween pretzels for the trick-or-treaters!
I will be giving out pretzels because in years past I bought large bags of assorted candy and only have a few trick-or-treaters come to my house. I would have a lot of leftover candy and then give it out to the ladies in my knit and crochet group.

I will dress Bosco in his pumpkin costume to greet the trick-or-treaters! We love looking at the cute costumes on the kids.
My sweet Bosco just turned 11 years old on October 15th!

I hope you all have a fun time and don't eat too much candy! LOL!
Enjoy the rest of the week and have a good weekend.

Hi friends. I hope you are all having a nice week and getting ready for Halloween.
Here at our house I love decorating for Halloween with cute decorations. In our house we do not like scary or skulls or anything bloody.
I did not buy any new Halloween decorations for inside the house this year. I just used the crochet pumpkins that I made last year to add into my mantel. I also crocheted a ghost that hangs from my mantel.
I added into my window box on my stoop some small scarecrows and as you can see the flowers are still blooming and have not died. I love mums and have them too on the steps will some small pumpkins. I also have a ghost hanging on my front door.

As you can see I have been motivated this year to crochet some of my own decorations. It's fun and I did not spend a lot of money on the yarn.
I know many of you have made your own awesome decorations for fall and Halloween. Thanks for keeping me motivated to make my own decorations!

A few weeks ago while I was shopping in Michael's, I bought Bosco his costume for Halloween. Here he is dressed up as Superman or Superdog? Haha, that's my cutie! He will be wearing his costume all day on Halloween!

CROCHET GHOST
What you will need to make the ghost:
Yarn: White Red Heart Yarn - for ghost
Black Red Heart Yarn - for eyes, to tie around ghost, & to hang
Crochet Hook: US Hook size I
Cotton Fill
ch = chain
hdc = half double crochet
Directions:
Chain 22
hdc in second ch from hook. Continue with hdc all the way to end of row. When you get to the end of row ch 2 and turn. Continue this way until you have 14 rows done. Weave in both ends of yarn. This will now look like a square shape. Take a small amount of cotton filling and form into a ball. Place this in middle of the crocheted piece. Take a long piece of cut black yarn and tie a bow around the neck of the ghost. Sew in two eyes with black yarn and add a long piece of yarn at the top of ghost and then tie a knot at the end to hang up.
Done.

Hi friends, I hope you all had a Happy Halloween. I gave a out so much candy and I enjoyed looking at all the little kids in their cute costumes. I even dressed up my dog Bosco as a pumpkin. I was so good, I only ate 3 pieces of candy!
I am on a book roll right now and I finished reading this book And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie a while back. I really loved this book and it was recommended to me by daughter. My daughter had to read this book for school so I decided to give it a try.
I am on a book roll right now and I finished reading this book And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie a while back. I really loved this book and it was recommended to me by daughter. My daughter had to read this book for school so I decided to give it a try.
I'm really glad I decided to read this book and it's a fast moving mystery and it will keep you guessing. If you like to read mystery books then I recommend you read this.
I was so excited to read another book by Agatha Christie and decided to go to our local library to find another one. I was disappointed when they did not have any of her books. So I picked up this book called A Stitch Before Dying by Anne Canadeo.
I have managed to read this book and I really loved it. It's a mystery about a group of women that belong to a knitting group and they all go away for the weekend. One of the ladies in the group is giving knitting lessons at the inn where they are staying and there happens to be a murder. It gets really interesting from there and I could not put the book down. What I liked about this book is that it is the third book in a series and there are a few recipes at the end of the book to try.
If you like mysteries then I would suggest this book and I'm looking forward to reading more books from this Black Sheep Knitting Mystery Series.
I will be sharing with you soon the book that I am currently reading. Are you reading any good books right now?
I will be sharing this post with Chantelle from the blog Mama Mummy Mum who has a book series each week called Read With Me every Monday.
Hi friends, last weekend my family and I took a drive to the country. We decided to visit a farm for the day and I hope you will join me in our visit.
We were so delighted when we saw this candy apple shack and just had to buy some. They also made fresh donuts that were so amazing.
They had this cool looking scarecrow dressed up with the cute hat, pumpkins, and flowers decorated all around it and the grounds.
My daughter and I were delighted when we saw the animals and look at this baby goat with the cute blue eyes.
They had cute sheep too and this guy looked like he was posing just for me.
Look at this barn for the chickens - I just love it.
They had a wonderful corn maze but we did not go through it, we just enjoyed looking at it.
There were so many tiny pumpkins, gourds, and mums available to choose from.
They had pony rides available for the kids too.
Inside is a farm stand where they sold all sorts of pies, donuts, and kettle corn which all came home with us. They also had fresh vegetables and fruit that looked amazing.
Here is an old barrel that has water running through it that was once used for gem mining.

Hello everyone, I hope you are all enjoying fall.
I shared with you all the mini crochet pumpkins that I made last year HERE and the pattern to make them is HERE in a recent post.
Well, I have been busy for the past few weeks crocheting these little mini pumpkins in all sorts of colors.
I made white pumpkins with a black stem which are all the rage in blog land right now.
And this deep orange color with a brown stem!
Here are my little crocheted pumpkins sitting in the fall leaves.
And more little pumpkins! Look how cute they look sitting together.
Below you can see my mantle is decorated with my mini pumpkins. Notice on the left there is a white pumpkin missing. Well, I am still in the process of making it. I need to sew it up. The painting in the background I painted when I was in high school. I do need to make a burlap wreath for next year to hang there.
I used tiny cotton balls to stuff the pumpkins.
There is still time left to make some mini crocheted pumpkins for fall and Halloween.
I hope I have inspired some of you to create one. They are so much fun to make and I will be making a few more for some of my friends in my crochet group since I have a lot of yarn left over.
The white yarn is Caron in the color Fisherman White. The deep orange yarn is Lion Brand Yarn Wool-Ease Chunky in the color 133 Pumpkin. The bright orange yarn is Lion Brand Yarn Vanna's Choice in the color Radiant Orange. The black yarn is Red Heart Super Saver in the color 0312 Black. The brown yarn is from Red Heart (I don't have the label) but the yarn color is dark brown.
If you want to crochet these pumpkins you can use whatever yarn you have and color.
I also want to thank and welcome all my new followers to my blog. Thank you for all your sweet comments, they mean a lot to me.
I also would like to thank all the wonderful friends that I have made in blog land who have featured me on their blogs with all of my crochet creations and my recipes! Thanks it means so much to me.
