I have some sad news. You may have noticed that I haven't been around for a while. It's because our dog Bosco passed away on November 26, 2022. Bosco was 15 years old.
We adopted Bosco when he was a six-month-old puppy and has been with us for 14 1/2 years.
Bosco's health had declined in the last six months due to old age. He slowed down and had two seizures about two weeks ago that were scary. When I called the vet he said to stop Bosco's blood pressure medicine and that he had a glorious life. We wanted Bosco put to sleep in our home and we found a vet who would come to our house to do the procedure. When the vet and assistant came to the house, Bosco followed them into the kitchen and he knew he was ready to go to doggie heaven. He then died in my daughter's arms.
I'm crying as I write this blog post but we're trying to remember the happy times we've had with Bosco.
Bosco was a happy puppy and he loved playing with all his toys. He had two dog buddies that lived on our block and they liked to play together.
He loved his dog treats.
He loved sitting on the couch with me.
Bosco and I took a lot of walks together.
Bosco loved car rides around town or when we would visit my daughter while she was away at college. My daughter's roommates would watch Bosco so that we could go out to dinner. They all loved Bosco's sweet personality.
Bosco made our life complete.
Thanks, Bosco for all the memories we've had with you.
Bosco, we will miss you and keep you in our hearts forever.
Julie xo
What a sweet tribute to the perfect pup! I'm getting teary reading your beautiful post, Julie. Bosco will be missed by everyone who knew him, virtually or otherwise.
ReplyDeleteOh Julie, I have tears reading this post about your beloved Bosco, and my heart breaks for you. Thank you for sharing all the joy that he brought you for 14 and 1/2 years. I know that you brought him such joy, too, and he will be forever missed.
ReplyDeleteOh Julie I'm so sad to hear your news but how lovely that he was able to spend the last moments of his life in your daughters arms. I remember how sad it was when Rover our Cocker Spaniel was put to sleep, I held his paw and stroked him until he breathed his last. I could never have another pet after him it's too sad when you have to let them go. Take comfort in all the lovely memories you have of him and I do think we meet up with them again. Sending hugs. xx
ReplyDeleteOh Julie, I'm so sorry to hear your sad news about Bosco. I know he will be missed by many people, online and in person. Sending much love and big hugs your way. xoxo

DeleteOh Julie I have tears rushing down my face and my heart is breaking for you. With just losing our Buddy that looked so much like Bosco it brings so much heart sadness and loss. I feel your pain and I am so sorry for this loss. These little creatures really touch our lives and hearts and when we have to say goodbye it is so hard. He is over the rainbow bridge and I hope he finds Buddy and they play together and talk about us moms and how we know each other through blogging. Prayers for you sweet friend. I am so very sorry. I know this is so painful. My only words are that time does have a way of making the loss more tolerable. We will never not miss them or want them back but time will ease your breathing and heartache. I wish that for you sweet friend. love Kris
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tribute! I will miss seeing Bosco on your posts as well.

Julie, I haven't been on the computer a lot lately, so while I saw your Instagram post, I didn't get a chance to read the post until now. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how much you loved Bosco. He was such a sweet boy and it was always fun to see him featured on the blog and Instagram, especially in his Halloween costumes. I'm sending you big hugs, my friend, I know you'll miss your walking, traveling and crocheting buddy. I hope the photo memories and blog posts help a little...xxoo
