Air Fryer Salmon

September 19, 2022

Hey guys, I know I'm late to the game with owning an air fryer.  When my daughter asked for an air fryer we saw one on sale at Costco.  We have a friend who moved and asked us if we would like hers and we jumped at the chance and said yes.

I like this air fryer and it cooked the salmon within minutes.  I searched Pinterest for an easy recipe and you'll see below the details on how to make it.

Air Fryer - Gormia - Model #GAF575

I defrosted 2 salmon filets for the recipe.

I made a marinade for the salmon and smoothed it on top of the salmon.

The air fryer salmon was cooked within minutes.

The salmon all cooked and plated.  I like using the air fryer and the marinade made the salmon delicious tasting.

WHAT YOU NEED:

AIR FRYER SALMON
The Recipe and Details can be found at Well Plated

PREP: 10 minutes
COOK:  8 minutes
TOTAL:  18 minutes
SERVINGS:  2 servings

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 salmon fillets
  • pinch kosher salt
  • pinch black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • pinch ground ginger
DIRECTIONS:

  1. With paper towels, pat the salmon dry.  Sprinkle lightly on both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. For easy cleanup, line the air fryer basket with aluminum foil.  Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F according to the manufacturer's instructions (for my air fryer, that is 3 minutes)
  3. In a small bowl or larger liquid measuring cup, mix together the brown sugar, Dijon, oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, and ginger (if using).  Spoon all over the top of the salmon.
  4. Slide-out the air fryer basket and set it on a heatproof surface.  Place the fillets in the basket so that they are not touching.
  5. Cook the salmon in the air fryer for 6 to 11 minutes, depending upon their thickness and your model (fillets around 1 inch will need 8 to 9 minutes).  Do not overcook or the salmon will be dry.  Salmon is done when it registers 145 degrees F on an instant-read thermometer (I remove mine a few degrees early, let it rest, then the carryover cooking finishes the job).  Check it a few times towards the end to make sure it doesn't overcook.
  6. Transfer to a serving plate.  Enjoy hot, with a sprinkle of additional salt and pepper if desired.
NOTE:  I left the out the ground ginger because I didn't have any on hand.

  2. We love cooking salmon in our air fryer! I have a different type of air fryer as the "bucket" didn't really work for our large family so we tried out one with trays and between the 3 trays I can now cook enough for all of us. I can't wait to try out this recipe!

  6. Julie, this looks delicious and so easy. My husband doesn't care for fish so I appreciate being able to easily cook one fillet when I prepare something else for him.
