Friday Favorites - October 2021

October 15, 2021

Hello blog friends.

I can't believe it's already the middle of October.  The time is flying by so fast and before you know it it'll be the holidays.

I got my first cold.  :(  Over the weekend I started to feel like I was getting a sore throat and sure enough I had my first cold of the season.  Luckily I have my smell and taste!

I have my Friday Favorites - October to share with you.

We had a Zumba class at the beginning of October for breast cancer awareness month.  We were all asked to wear pink and I bought this cute sweatshirt at the BJ's store.  We all had a fun time together and we even won some prizes.

My husband and I saw the comedian Jim Gaffigan at Radio City Music Hall.  It was such a fun night full of laughs as two other comedians came on before Jim Gaffigan did his show.  You can see some of Jim Gaffigan's shows on Netflix.  It felt so good to be out in the city and I'm happy that it's getting back to normal again.

We did a Costco run and filled up the cart with all sorts of things.

I couldn't resist buying the huge pink Squishmallow for only ten dollars.  Last year all the rage was baby Yoda squishmallows.  I'm not sure if they are still available at Costco.  I've learned that when you see something good to just grab it.  I bought new pants and a sweater and my husband needed new slippers.  The rest is food we needed.

We did a Trader Joe's run and we loaded up our cart with a lot of good food.  We love their salads and dips.

This time I decided to try out their toothpaste.  I like that the toothpaste has baking soda in it.

I've tried this facial cream before and I like it.

I received my magazines for the month.  I like when I have time to relax and read a magazine.  If I have a doctor's appointment I will bring one to read.

I enjoy taking walks in the neighborhood and I thought this yard looked so cute and festive for fall.

We have in our neighborhood this box filled with books to read.  You can see Bosco below sniffing away.  I tried to get him to look at the camera but he refused to look at me.  LOL!  Today is Bosco's 14th birthday!  We will sing happy birthday to him and give him a McDonald's hamburger.

I hope you have a happy Friday and weekend.

  1. We had tickets to see Jim Gaffigan years ago and while I don't remember exactly what happened the date we were supposed to go they had to cancel and postpone the show so we didn't end up getting to see him. It was a bummer but we decided to make use of our hotel reservation anyway and spent some time in Boston.

  2. We watched his show on Netflix, how fun to see in person. Heading to Trader Joe’s next week, I’m so glad it’s closer now, I spy those corn chips in your cart, they are the best! Happy Weekend.

  3. Happy Birthday to Bosco! Glad you are getting out and enjoying city life, again! I'm at Trader Joe's every other day, it seems. It's so close by. I need to make a Costco run soon - hoping I didn't miss their giant mums!

  4. We love Jim Gafigan. We had friends thaat went to that show too. You did well at Costco and TJ's. I see a lot of my faves in your cart. That is a really cute sweatshirt for breast cancer awareness and in general. I'm glad your cold is over and out of the way! Have a great weekend!

  5. I love that beautifully decorated yard and the cute free library! Lots of good things in the stores too. We are still ordering our groceries to pick up, probably saves money! heehee! Enjoy your day!

  6. Happy Birthday to Bosco!, we have a free library in our shopping mall too it's a great idea I think, lots of lovely buys there Julie I love the sweatshirt. Have a great weekend, I hope that your cold is better soon. xx

  7. Happy Birthday to sweet Bosco. Ha ha that is what Buddy got on his birthday too. I always wanted to put up one of those book depositories. Not only cute but love that you can take a book read it and bring it back for someone else to read. I might think about doing one here at the condo since a lot in here read. Might put it in the lobby. Have a great weekend. xoxo Kris

  8. Love the little lending library and front yard decorations! Bosco looks so good for being a senior. He must love those walks around the neighborhood. Looks like lots of good stuff to eat in your grocery carts. Now I am hungry! x Jim Gaffigan is great - so good that you got out to see him in person. Hope your weekend is lovely. x K

  9. Happy Birthday to Bosco!! I love that he gets a special birthday meal. That's awesome!! I hope you have great weekend. It's supposed to be lovely!

  10. You are a busy the yard decoarations and your book box!!!!

  11. It's great you got to enjoy the comedy show! So sorry to hear you're sick though, hope you get over your cold quickly! I liked 2020 lockdown as it was over autumn and winter here and it meant we didn't catch any colds being home so much! Of course we've had a couple this year with the kids all back in school and daycare, haha!

Hope you had a good weekend :) We made the most of the nice sunny days after a rainy week, with a local market event and a morning at the park.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and your comments always make me happy.
