Friday Favorites - October 2021

October 15, 2021

Hello blog friends.

I can't believe it's already the middle of October.  The time is flying by so fast and before you know it it'll be the holidays.

I got my first cold.  :(  Over the weekend I started to feel like I was getting a sore throat and sure enough I had my first cold of the season.  Luckily I have my smell and taste!

I have my Friday Favorites - October to share with you.

We had a Zumba class at the beginning of October for breast cancer awareness month.  We were all asked to wear pink and I bought this cute sweatshirt at the BJ's store.  We all had a fun time together and we even won some prizes.

My husband and I saw the comedian Jim Gaffigan at Radio City Music Hall.  It was such a fun night full of laughs as two other comedians came on before Jim Gaffigan did his show.  You can see some of Jim Gaffigan's shows on Netflix.  It felt so good to be out in the city and I'm happy that it's getting back to normal again.

We did a Costco run and filled up the cart with all sorts of things.

I couldn't resist buying the huge pink Squishmallow for only ten dollars.  Last year all the rage was baby Yoda squishmallows.  I'm not sure if they are still available at Costco.  I've learned that when you see something good to just grab it.  I bought new pants and a sweater and my husband needed new slippers.  The rest is food we needed.

We did a Trader Joe's run and we loaded up our cart with a lot of good food.  We love their salads and dips.

This time I decided to try out their toothpaste.  I like that the toothpaste has baking soda in it.

I've tried this facial cream before and I like it.

I received my magazines for the month.  I like when I have time to relax and read a magazine.  If I have a doctor's appointment I will bring one to read.

I enjoy taking walks in the neighborhood and I thought this yard looked so cute and festive for fall.

We have in our neighborhood this box filled with books to read.  You can see Bosco below sniffing away.  I tried to get him to look at the camera but he refused to look at me.  LOL!  Today is Bosco's 14th birthday!  We will sing happy birthday to him and give him a McDonald's hamburger.

I hope you have a happy Friday and weekend.

  1. We had tickets to see Jim Gaffigan years ago and while I don't remember exactly what happened the date we were supposed to go they had to cancel and postpone the show so we didn't end up getting to see him. It was a bummer but we decided to make use of our hotel reservation anyway and spent some time in Boston.

  2. We watched his show on Netflix, how fun to see in person. Heading to Trader Joe’s next week, I’m so glad it’s closer now, I spy those corn chips in your cart, they are the best! Happy Weekend.

  7. Happy Birthday to sweet Bosco. Ha ha that is what Buddy got on his birthday too. I always wanted to put up one of those book depositories. Not only cute but love that you can take a book read it and bring it back for someone else to read. I might think about doing one here at the condo since a lot in here read. Might put it in the lobby. Have a great weekend. xoxo Kris

  11. It's great you got to enjoy the comedy show! So sorry to hear you're sick though, hope you get over your cold quickly! I liked 2020 lockdown as it was over autumn and winter here and it meant we didn't catch any colds being home so much! Of course we've had a couple this year with the kids all back in school and daycare, haha!

Hope you had a good weekend :) We made the most of the nice sunny days after a rainy week, with a local market event and a morning at the park.
