Friday Favorites - July

July 31, 2020

Hello blog friends.

Well, I can't believe that today is the last day of July!  This month seemed to fly by so fast and now we are headed into August.

I have my Friday Favorites - July Edition:

1.  Salad
We've been eating a lot of salads lately for lunch.  We did take-out salads from Sweet Green.
I had a kale caesar salad with roasted chicken, tomatoes, parmesan crisps, shaved parmesan, shredded kale, chopped romaine, lime, and caesar dressing.

2.  Sushi
We've been food shopping at least once a week at Wegmans.  The last few times we bought sushi there and we liked it.  The sushi is so fresh and we enjoyed two sushi trays and vegetable dumplings.

3.  Costco Finds
a)  The last time we went to Costco I found a few items that I liked.  I saw these tumblers that keep your beverage cold for 24 hours.  I love my aqua tumbler and I add in water, ice cubes, and lemon juice.  I use it for when I have my Zoom Zumba classes and when I sit out in the yard.

b)  I saw an ad on Instagram for fancy Ziploc plastic bags.  They are to be used in any kind of bag like a handbag, gym bag, or suitcase to help contain and organize your clutter.  I use one in my handbag to help organize my things.  The next time I travel I will be using them and for when I go to the beach.

Below, I'm using it in my handbag to hold my tissues and face mask.

4.  Crochet
I haven't been crocheting much lately.  I seem to have lost my mojo and I can't seem to concentrate for too long.  I had at the beginning of July, my Zoom knit/crochet meeting, and crocheted this star while we all talked and shared what we were making.  If you would like to crochet the star, you can here.

I would love to hear if you have any suggestions or crochet ideas for me.  🧶

5.  Summer Flowers
I enjoy going on walks when I don't take a Zoom Zumba class.  I always stop to take photos of the beautiful flowers I see.  This time I saw a pretty sunflower, and pink and white hydrangeas.

6.  Walks with Bosco
This has been a rough month for Bosco because of the heat, thunderstorms, and fireworks.  Bosco doesn't like to go for long walks.  This time we took a walk and I got lucky.  He posed for me when I asked him if he wanted a treat.  Of course, I gave him a treat when we got home.  🐶

Do you have any favorites this month?

Wishing you all a Happy Friday and weekend.  😎

  1. I love your Friday Faves! That salad looks so good. We love Sweet Green. I haven't been to one in a long time. Miss it. Wegman's sushi is really good! I've gotten trays of it for parties and it's always a hit. I used to buy it for my daughter's lunch too. It was a treat! I saw those tumblers at Costco. I have one of them (from Wegman's) and I love it.It keeps water so cold. I put a lot of ice and it's still cold when I leave it in the hot car or overnight. I should have bought the set at Costco! Poor Bosco. I hope August is better for him. Those ziplock bags are cute! I lost my reading mojo during quarantine but I've got it back. My daughter is doing tons of crocheting. She's into it! You'll get it back or find something else. Those flowers on your walk are gorgeous. I hope you have a great weekend Julie!

  2. Love your posts - and love Wegman's. Not a sushi person, but love their crabcakes ( served with a side salad) and the prepared meals. I know those are not super healthy, but so convenient. Have a great August! www.ournewvista.com

  9. Julie,
    Great post!!
Thanks so much for your visit!! We actually had a nice day with low humidity and a nice breeze so I took advantage of it and sat on the front porch and did some reading!! It was great to be able to spend some time outside!!

  10. Love seeing little Bosco. So adorable and bless his heart to try and go for those walks. Our weather here is changing and the temps are now below normal. Next week we will only be in the 70's and no humidity. That is unheard of for the month of August. I will take it. Having windows open and longer walks will be so welcomed. Happy Weekend sweet friend. xoxo Kris

  12. I loved all of your photos. I've been eating salads so much too. I joined Weight Watchers recently, so salads have been my go-to lunch. I need to get more creative with them. Those pretty ziploc bags are so cute. I use ziploc bags for everything, so now I need some of these pretty ones. I love your Friday Favorites. I used to do them, and now you've inspired me to bring it back. So fun.
