American Flag Crochet Dishcloth

July 11, 2013

How's everyone's week been?  I have been busy crocheting this dishcloth this week and it is Week 15 of the 52 Weeks of Dishcloths.

It's the American Flag Crochet Dishcloth and I just love it!  It's so patriotic and it was so much fun to crochet.  It involves color changes of yarn and the stitch forms a wave.

This stitch would be good to use to make a blanket or scarf.  Just think of the possibilities of what color combinations you could use.

The yarn that I used is from Lion Brand Yarn, Kitchen Cotton in the colors:  Cayenne, Vanilla, and Blueberry.   The pattern can be found HERE.

I made this dishcloth to use as a decoration for patriotic holidays and I hope I have inspired you too!

Thanks everyone and enjoy.

  9. I saw your link and thumbnail image at SYC Thursday and had to stop by to view this. I love to crochet and this will be something I make for when I decorate the house for the 4th of July each year.

    Wonderful idea.

  18. Hi, I'm afraid I'm here to rain on the parade. While I greatly admire your designing talent and appreciate your patriotic intentions immensely, something about putting a flag (al beit a slightly abstract replica) into dirty, greasy dishwater just rubs me the wrong way. Maybe because I am an Army vet, an Army wife (now retired after 32+ yrs of service,) and an Army mom, maybe not, but I had to post and let you know my thoughts.
