Rome & London 2025 - Arrive in London & Next Day 2025

September 29, 2025

Hello friends.

We are continuing our trip to Rome and London.  In case you missed the other blog posts about our stay in Rome, you can click the links below.

We arrived in London for the weekend.  We had a short flight from Rome, Italy, to London, England, and arrived in the afternoon on Thursday, June 5, 2025.

Our apartment wasn't ready yet, so we walked around the area of Camden where we were staying in our Air B&B.  We were glad we were able to drop off our luggage at the apartment.  We stayed on the second and third floors of the apartment shown below.  This was a new area to all of us and was located in a residential area of London.

While we waited for the apartment to be ready, we stopped in a cafe for a cup of coffee and sandwiches for a late lunch.

Once we were situated, we walked to Covent Garden to get Ben's Cookies .  It's becoming a tradition like what my daughter and I did back in 2023.  These cookies are large and taste so good, with many varieties to try.  I got an oatmeal raisin cookie and my daughter got a cranberry & white chocolate cookie.  We all shared the cookies and loved them.

Walking along the cobblestone streets of Covent Garden.  It was a cold, gloomy, and rainy day.  The weather was colder and in the 50s and 60s, and different from the hot weather we had in Rome, Italy.  The weather in Rome was in the 80s!

That evening, we decided to go to Chinatown for dinner.  We took an Uber there from our apartment.  We had dinner at the Imperial China restaurant.  As you enter the restaurant, you cross over a wooden Chinese bridge which overlooks a Koi fish pond.  We all shared some dishes, and the food was good and I recommend trying it out.

We were up early the next day, Friday, June 6, 2025, to explore more of London.

We took the tube (London Underground) to the South Kensington Station to visit the Victor and Albert Museum.

Views of the Victor and Albert Museum.

There is so much to see in this museum, and we enjoyed looking at all of the art and exhibits.

After visiting the museum, it was time for lunch.  We stopped by a nearby pub for a sandwich, a burger, and fish and chips.  Sorry, I can't remember the name of the pub.  There are so many pubs all over London.

Our next stop was to visit Harrods.

We all enjoyed touring this huge store.  My daughter is in love with Jellycat London.  Harrods had a huge display of them.

That evening, my husband and I had tickets to see The Devil Wears Prada, playing in the West End.  It was such a great performance played by Vanessa Williams.  I highly recommend seeing this musical.

My daughter saw the musical Les Miserables, which she enjoyed, and was also in the West End.

Crochet Pumpkins for Fall 2025

September 22, 2025

Hello friends.  Happy first day of fall!

It's time to craft some crocheted pumpkins for fall!

I love everything about fall, and I especially enjoy decorating the inside of my house with these handmade, crocheted pumpkins I've made.  I've crocheted these in all sorts of colors and different colored yarn.

I love decorating with these pumpkins and placing them on my kitchen windowsill.  It seems to brighten up my kitchen in the fall.

I never get tired of decorating my mantel with these cute pumpkins for fall.

I'm sharing below the easy crochet details so that you can make some too.  The pumpkins come out small, and they are easy to decorate all over the house.

Lasts Days in Rome 2025

September 15, 2025

Hello friends.

We are continuing our trip to Rome and London.  In case you missed the first, second, and third blog posts about our trip, you can click the links at the bottom of this post.

I'm wrapping up our last days in Rome.

This is the outside of St. Peter's Basilica.  There were huge lines to see St. Peter's.  We chose to see the Sistine Chapel instead, and we are glad we had tickets for that.

We ordered tickets ahead of time to see the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican Museum.  We had to wait online, but there was a guard who let us skip ahead because he said my daughter was beautiful!  LOL.  We were also nervous that we didn't have our passports with us, but we got in no problem without them.  I did have photos of our passports on my phone.

Looking at all of the beautiful art work on the ceilings was just incredible!

We visited the Roman Forum, and it was so amazing to walk around and see the ruins and the Colosseum.

My husband and I did not have tickets to get inside to see the Colosseum, but we enjoyed walking around the area.

It was a very hot and humid day, and it's a good idea to have water, a hat, and sunglasses with you.

After a few hours of walking around, we both stopped and got an Aperol Spritz to cool off with.  There was a stand on the side of the road that had Italian food and drink.  It's located right along the Tiber River.

We enjoyed our last delicious meal in Rome at Osteria La Gensola.

We all enjoyed walking along the cobblestone streets and loved sitting outside for our last Italian meal.

I'm happy that we went to Rome, Italy, at the beginning of June, as it was hot and crowded with a lot of people.  It only gets more crowded during the months of July and August.  I loved Rome and visiting all of the famous sights and eating the delicious food.  I can't wait to go back and explore more areas of Italy.

Five Fall Recipes - 2025

September 9, 2025

Hello friends, I hope you are enjoying this new month of September.  I'm loving the cooler weather we're having here. During this time of year I love making soups and using my crockpot.🍁

I have some recipes that I've shared before on the blog and I'd love to share them with you again.

Crockpot Artichoke & Sundried Tomato Chicken

This is an easy crockpot meal to make, and it tastes delicious.  It goes great with rice, mashed potatoes, or couscous.  I was so happy when Joanne from Slices of Life made this recipe.  It always makes me happy when blogger friends make my recipes.

Chicken Pot Pie

I found this recipe at Pillsbury.  This pot pie is easy to make and it's delicious comfort food.  It's perfect for a weeknight meal.

Quick & Easy Cheeseburger Pie

If you like cheeseburgers then you will love this recipe.  It tastes like a cheeseburger but without the bun.  This cheeseburger pie was a hit with my husband.

Kale, Bean, and Mushroom Soup

I love this soup, and it tastes good any time of year.  It's so easy to make and can be ready to eat in about half an hour.  I was so happy when Heather from Our Life in a Click made this recipe a few times.

Old Fashioned Oatmeal Raisin Muffins

I love muffins, and I was so excited to make these muffins from blogger April J. Harris.  They are easy to make and taste delicious.  I've also made a large batch in the past and then freeze them.  When I feel like having a snack I can heat the muffins up in the microwave oven.  I hope you enjoy these delicious tasting muffins from April.

I hope you enjoy these fall recipe ideas.  I can't wait to make these recipes again this fall.
