Rome & London 2025 - Arrive in London & Next Day 2025

September 29, 2025

Hello friends.

We are continuing our trip to Rome and London.  In case you missed the other blog posts about our stay in Rome, you can click the links below.

We arrived in London for the weekend.  We had a short flight from Rome, Italy, to London, England, and arrived in the afternoon on Thursday, June 5, 2025.

Our apartment wasn't ready yet, so we walked around the area of Camden where we were staying in our Air B&B.  We were glad we were able to drop off our luggage at the apartment.  We stayed on the second and third floors of the apartment shown below.  This was a new area to all of us and was located in a residential area of London.

While we waited for the apartment to be ready, we stopped in a cafe for a cup of coffee and sandwiches for a late lunch.

Once we were situated, we walked to Covent Garden to get Ben's Cookies .  It's becoming a tradition like what my daughter and I did back in 2023.  These cookies are large and taste so good, with many varieties to try.  I got an oatmeal raisin cookie and my daughter got a cranberry & white chocolate cookie.  We all shared the cookies and loved them.

Walking along the cobblestone streets of Covent Garden.  It was a cold, gloomy, and rainy day.  The weather was colder and in the 50s and 60s, and different from the hot weather we had in Rome, Italy.  The weather in Rome was in the 80s!

That evening, we decided to go to Chinatown for dinner.  We took an Uber there from our apartment.  We had dinner at the Imperial China restaurant.  As you enter the restaurant, you cross over a wooden Chinese bridge which overlooks a Koi fish pond.  We all shared some dishes, and the food was good and I recommend trying it out.

We were up early the next day, Friday, June 6, 2025, to explore more of London.

We took the tube (London Underground) to the South Kensington Station to visit the Victor and Albert Museum.

Views of the Victor and Albert Museum.

There is so much to see in this museum, and we enjoyed looking at all of the art and exhibits.

After visiting the museum, it was time for lunch.  We stopped by a nearby pub for a sandwich, a burger, and fish and chips.  Sorry, I can't remember the name of the pub.  There are so many pubs all over London.

Our next stop was to visit Harrods.

We all enjoyed touring this huge store.  My daughter is in love with Jellycat London.  Harrods had a huge display of them.

That evening, my husband and I had tickets to see The Devil Wears Prada, playing in the West End.  It was such a great performance played by Vanessa Williams.  I highly recommend seeing this musical.

My daughter saw the musical Les Miserables, which she enjoyed, and was also in the West End.

  4. I'm so excited you are sharing your London trip! I love the Victoria and Albert museum -- you could spend a week in there and not see it all, I think! And Harrod's is such fun. Love your Chinatown photo too. I need to find Ben's Cookies next time I go back! I hope this is a long series (and I'm off to see your earlier trip.) It's my favorite place!

  5. What a wonderful trip - you got to see so much. We will look for Ben's Cookies next time we are in London. The West End shows are SO good - glad you got to go. And...you got regular peas with your fish and chips - not "mushy peas"! My husband always wants cole slaw with that dish, but they don't do that. Can't wait to see the rest of your trip!

    1. Ann, it was a such a fast weekend visit to London. We had a great time and those cookies are so good! I love seeing a show in the west end of London. The fish and chips was good and yes the peas were not soggy. I think cole slaw would be a good side dish with the fish and chips and agree with your husband!
