Hello friends. I can't believe we're already at the end of March! It's still cold and dreary here, and I'm looking forward to the warm and sunny days of spring.
I'm joining Patty for the Monthly Musings link-up.
The topic this month is Spring Holidays and Fun.
HERE ARE THE QUESTIONS:
1) No. It does NOT feel like spring here. The weather still feels cold and dreary, and we've had a lot of rainy days. I am still wearing my winter coat with a scarf, and I'm so tired of this cold weather. I can't wait for the days when I can wear a light spring coat, and it's sunny and 60 degrees out.
2) We celebrate Easter. I love these Easter decorations displayed in a local store in our neighborhood.
3) No. We do not have any trips planned for this spring. We want to try and get out and explore different areas of the city for some day trips.
4) Each year for the Easter season, it's a tradition for me to make Spaghetti Pie. I learned how to make this dish from my husband's aunt, who was from Italy. It's delicious tasting, and my family loves it.
5) We don't have any festivals planned for this spring. In the past, we've attended summer festivals in our neighborhood that are fun, and there is always a lot of good food to try.
6) One of my tips for the spring allergy season is to take allergy medicine to relieve any sneezing and a runny nose. When my allergies act up, I take a Claritin tab that works great. If it's windy outside and pollen is flying around, I like to keep my windows closed. If I'm outside and there is pollen on my clothes or hair, I like to change clothes and take a shower.
7) What makes me think "OK, it's finally spring" is when I can wear a light sweater outside and no coat. When it's a warm sunny day. When I see a lot of spring flowers in yards and gardens in my neighborhood.
8) Dislike - I do not like spring rain. I like warm and sunny days.
9) I don't have any particular spring holiday dessert. My Italian husband loves having a pastry for the feast of St. Joseph. We had these pastries from a local bakery that we love.
10) One of my favorite spring drinks is an Aperol Spritz. My daughter has turned me onto a Hugo Spritz, which is also good.
HERE ARE THE MONTHLY TOPICS:
Hello friends.
It's the second Monday of the month, which means it's time for the Share Our Lives Link Up.
The topic this month is Grocery List Frequent Buys:
Most of the items I buy are from BJ's, Costco, Fresh Direct, and my local grocery store. I always write out my list on paper.
- eggs
- half and half and almond milk
- bread
- butter
- cheese
- spinach - I use it for making soup, in protein shakes
- bananas
- romaine lettuce
- red onion
- cucumbers
- cherry tomatoes
- potatoes
- carrots
- yogurt
- chicken broth - for making soup
- canned cannellini beans - for making soup
- frozen berries - for protein shakes
- pasta
- olive oil
- seasoning and spices
- chicken cutlets
- chicken sausage
- turkey bacon
This is a list of most of the things I buy on a regular basis. To make things easier, I usually do meal planning. This helps with making dinner go smoothly during the week. I also like to make a large pot of soup and put the other half of the soup in the freezer.
Do you have any helpful tips when it comes to grocery lists and food shopping?
I will be sharing this with Joanne's blog My Slices of Life.

Hello blog friends. Due to the recent snowstorm and blizzard, I've been reading more than usual. I'd love to share the books that I've recently read.
This is my first time reading a book by this author, and she has written a wonderful mystery. I enjoyed the characters, and I'm hoping there will be a series of these books.
This is book three in the Maid's series. I enjoyed this book just as much as the other two books. If you like a mystery this is a good one.
I like reading historical fiction from time to time, and this was a winner. I loved how it changed from the present to the past. This was enjoyable read about wartime life and life on Martha's Vineyard in the 1940s.
This book was a quick read, and I thought it was just Ok. It kept me on my toes, and I liked that book takes place in Scotland.
If you have book recommendations, please let me know.
I will share this post at the monthly book link-up party, Share Your Shelf. It's held on the first Thursday of each month. Slices of Life

Hello friends, and happy March.
I'm joining Amy from the blog, Coffee and Cocktails at the Casa, for her Currently link-up. It's held on the first Wednesday of each month.
This month, we are sharing what we are loving, saving your life right now - cleaning/purging, planning (trip wise), taking a beak from (since it's spring break month).
LOVING: What I'm loving is that we are slowly approaching the end of winter. It's been a brutal winter, with temperatures so cold, and we've had a lot of snow. We are dealing with our second huge snow storm and blizzard of 2026. I never imagined the winter would have been so cold and snowy. I am eager for the snow to melt and enjoy more bright and sunny days ahead. Bring on spring!
SAVING YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW - CLEANING/PURGING: I've been cleaning out our closets. I organized our coat closet, and I donated a bag of hats and scarves to the needy. My husband and I went through our clothes, and we donated a bag of clothes to Goodwill. I always feel good when I organize and go through our clothes and donate them to Goodwill.
PLANNING (TRIP WISE): We are all hoping to plan a trip to New Jersey and rent a house on the Jersey Shore. We did that two years ago and we were able to bring our dog Lucy with us. We all have a great time, and it's so nice to go to the beach each day.
TAKING A BREAK FROM (SINCE IT'S SPRING BREAK MONTH): What I'm taking a break from for Lent is eating chocolate. My husband and I usually share a piece of dark chocolate with a cup of espresso each afternoon. It will be nice when we can go back to sharing a piece of chocolate together.
What is currently new with you?
Julie
