Hello friends, and happy March.
I'm joining Amy from the blog, Coffee and Cocktails at the Casa, for her Currently link-up. It's held on the first Wednesday of each month.
This month, we are sharing what we are loving, saving your life right now - cleaning/purging, planning (trip wise), taking a beak from (since it's spring break month).
LOVING: What I'm loving is that we are slowly approaching the end of winter. It's been a brutal winter, with temperatures so cold, and we've had a lot of snow. We are dealing with our second huge snow storm and blizzard of 2026. I never imagined the winter would have been so cold and snowy. I am eager for the snow to melt and enjoy more bright and sunny days ahead. Bring on spring!
SAVING YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW - CLEANING/PURGING: I've been cleaning out our closets. I organized our coat closet, and I donated a bag of hats and scarves to the needy. My husband and I went through our clothes, and we donated a bag of clothes to Goodwill. I always feel good when I organize and go through our clothes and donate them to Goodwill.
PLANNING (TRIP WISE): We are all hoping to plan a trip to New Jersey and rent a house on the Jersey Shore. We did that two years ago and we were able to bring our dog Lucy with us. We all have a great time, and it's so nice to go to the beach each day.
TAKING A BREAK FROM (SINCE IT'S SPRING BREAK MONTH): What I'm taking a break from for Lent is eating chocolate. My husband and I usually share a piece of dark chocolate with a cup of espresso each afternoon. It will be nice when we can go back to sharing a piece of chocolate together.
What is currently new with you?
Julie

Julie, it always feel good to organize and to donate. I am always going through items around the house and clothes. Such a good feeling when it’s all finished. Spring is around the corner. A trip to the New Jersey shore is a nice getaway. My husband’s brother and wife own a beach house at the NJ shore. I remember that fabulous deli there.
ReplyDeleteI've been re-doing our closets and purging a lot! Do you have something instead of the chocolate now? I would miss the sweet treat too!
ReplyDeleteYour trip to Jersey sounds wonderful. I have been cleaning and purging things too. Feels great to have things organized and to get rid of things we do not need. Have a great new week. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteThis is fun. I'm with you on the end of winter! Not soon enough! I don't want to wish away the days -- I want to just wish away the weather!
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up! That sounds like such a nice ritual - the espresso and dark chocolate. Can you replace it with a Bischoff for the rest of Lent? Lol. Maybe not.
ReplyDeleteI have some donation bags that I need to get to my car. It's been non-stop raining though.
What a winter it's been. I really thought it would be mild this year! Nope!
My step father gave up chocolate for lent too; it was hard to keep that in mind when we were visiting and eating things like brownie sundaes. I am so ready for spring too. It's nice and warm and sunny today and I can literally see the snow melting and the piles shrinking just a bit.
ReplyDeleteIt does sound like you have had a brutal winter. I have been so glad to see some sunshine here, I hope you get some warmer weather soon.
ReplyDeleteYour trip to New Jersey sounds wonderful.
I didn’t realize how brutal your winter was, Julie. My sister in Ohio has had it bad, too, and she is so over it! Good for you in organizing and donating. That’s always a good feeling. Planning a trip to the Jersey Shore will be something to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for Spring! And for all our snow to melt. It was so sunny and warm-ish today and I was giddy!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some spring weather soon!
ReplyDeleteYes, it has been a brutal winter. I am loving these spring-like days and the melting snow. I also love your chocolate and espresso ritual with your husband. That is the sweetest...no pun intended! 😉
