Grocery List Frequent Buys - Share Our Lives

March 9, 2026

Hello friends.

It's the second Monday of the month, which means it's time for the Share Our Lives Link Up.

The topic this month is Grocery List Frequent Buys:

Most of the items I buy are from BJ's, Costco, Fresh Direct, and my local grocery store.  I always write out my list on paper.

  • eggs
  • half and half and almond milk
  • bread
  • butter
  • cheese
  • spinach - I use it for making soup, in protein shakes
  • bananas
  • romaine lettuce
  • red onion
  • cucumbers
  • cherry tomatoes
  • potatoes
  • carrots
  • yogurt
  • chicken broth - for making soup
  • canned cannellini beans - for making soup
  • frozen berries - for protein shakes
  • pasta
  • olive oil
  • seasoning and spices
  • chicken cutlets
  • chicken sausage
  • turkey bacon

This is a list of most of the things I buy on a regular basis.  To make things easier, I usually do meal planning.  This helps with making dinner go smoothly during the week.  I also like to make a large pot of soup and put the other half of the soup in the freezer.

Do you have any helpful tips when it comes to grocery lists and food shopping?

I will be sharing this with Joanne's blog My Slices of Life.

  1. We have a similar list. That is a great idea to freeze part of the soup!

  2. I get a lot of the same things. I always freeze some of our soup in souper cubes. I try and clear out the freezer and pantry if they are getting full before buying more. We usually shop at Costco every week or every two weeks and the supermarket here and there. I buy spinach pretty regularly too because I can use it for salads, soups/stews and as a veggie side for dinner.

  3. I am into making lists now. Just keeps me from forgetting things. I like to make crockpot soups and meals and then freeze the left overs for another time too. Happy New Week. We are having great temps here finally and I hope you do too. Hugs. Kris

  4. I keep three mag-pads on the fridge -- Costco, Meijer (big store), Trader Joe. As I run out or get low on things, I write them on the right list. It works pretty well!

  5. Hi Julie. I like using an app called Any List on my phone to create shopping lists. So handy when I am shopping for groceries. Happy new week.

  6. I do most of my shopping online and have it delivered but when I do go to the shop I will write a list and then end up forgetting it and leave it at home. Oops. lol
Ahh! I love making soup because there's always leftovers for the freezer which my fella will take to work.

  7. Oh yes, I definitely find meal planning is key with stocking up "right"... though I am still known to forget at least one item each week!

  8. My list is similar...and I use Alexa - just say " add to my shopping list" and I don't have to stop cooking and write anything down. Also like to use up almost everything before another re-stock. Have a great week, Julie!

  9. We end up buying the same items each week, too...and I agree, meal planning is key! I never used to do it, but now I plan the entire week before I hit the store! Enjoy the sunshine today...60! Woot!!

  10. We usually get lots of frozen berries too..and almond milk for smoothies. The kids and my husband tend to drink those more than I do. Thanks for linking up with us.

  11. Hi Julie, I think we buy most of the same things! I keep a running list and write things down as I run low or think of something we need. No matter, I always forget at least one thing on the list! This week it was doggie bags! I shop at one store - Kroger (Locally called Fred Meyer), which is like Walmart with food and household goods all in one store. Because I am such a 'loyal' shopper, I get great coupons, discounts and $1 off every gallon of gas! Why would I shop anywhere else? Lol! Hope you are seeing some warmer weather and signs of spring! Happy shopping! x K

  12. Meal planning makes it so much easier to buy what you actually need and end up with so much less wastage.
