I'm joining Patty for the Monthly Musings link-up. The topic for this month is Summer 2026 Preview.
HERE ARE THE QUESTIONS:
1) I went to the movies on Saturday with my husband to see The Devil Wears Prada 2. I liked the movie, and I'm glad I saw it. I don't think they had to wait so long for the second movie.
On Monday, we went to dinner with my daughter at a local pub we like. The food and atmosphere are always good.
I got a bratwurst on a pretzel bun with sauerkraut and fries. I could not finish the fries, so I took half of them home to eat for another time.
My husband got an Irish Spice Bag, which is basically chicken nuggets with fries, spices, and served with gravy.
My daughter got a buffalo chicken wrap and took half of it home to eat another time.
2) My summer job when I was younger was to babysit kids for my neighbors. It was a great way for me to make some extra money.
3) I like to eat ice cream in the summer. My favorites are mint chocolate chip and chocolate-flavored ice cream.
4) I like lettuce, tomato, cheese, and ketchup on my hamburger.
On my hot dog, I like mustard and sauerkraut.
5) I LOVE going to the beach!
6) We will be renting a house at the Jersey Shore for the summer. I'm so excited and the best part is that we will be able to bring our dog Lucy with us.
7) We don't visit any amusement parks in the summer. We used to when my daughter was little.
8) I like eating outside in the summer when it's not too hot outside. I love entertaining friends and family for BBQ's.
9) My favorite summer beverage is an iced tea or iced coffee.
10) Some of my favorite side dishes for a summer party are: corn on the cob, watermelon salad, cucumber salad, shrimp cocktail, grilled asparagus, and French fries.
BRING ON SUMMER! I can't wait to enjoy this summer!😎

ReplyDeleteAll the food looks so good! I would have ordered the bratwurst too, and I love mint chocolate chip ice cream. How wonderful to have a place at the beach for the summer!

ReplyDeleteWe used to visit lots of amusement parks with our boys when they were younger but I can't really remember the last time we went to one... though I vaguely remember checking one out when we went to Shenandoah maybe 3 years ago since my middle son decided to try out a "ride" that really was rather insane and not even included in the price of admission. My mother in law offered to pay for him to go it but I could hardly even watch him.
ReplyDeleteI still haven't seen The Devil Wears Prada 2. I will wait until it's available to stream on the TV. Oh wow! Your meal on Monday looks so good but so many fries, I would have taken half home too.

Oh Julie, bratwurst sounds so good! You all had some great choices. You look so cute in your swimsuit at the beach. How fun to look forward to going to the Jersey Shore and bringing Lucy. Happy Summer!

ReplyDeleteSuch a fun post with lots of yummy food. Summer is great for grilling and dining outdoors.we love making smash burgers. We enjoyed brats the other night for dinner with French fries. Happy weekend.

ReplyDeleteSounds like you are all set for a great summer - how nice to get to have a house at the shore! There is an amusement park that we used to live closer to - Knobels. No entrance fee, free parking, a great merry go round where you can STILL try to catch a brass ring! This year is the 100th anniversary...so we are planning a ride there to enjoy the day and have the special chicken and waffles they serve in the restaurant there. All your food photos are making me so hungry - Happy June and have a great summer!

Summer is my down time so I do hope to be able to get some big projects done around the house...I do not do well in the heat and humidity of the Summer so I will be mostly in the house with the air conditioning blaring....
