Hello friends.
It's time for the Share Our Lives Link-Up.
The topic for this month is Ways to Stay Warm in Winter.
- Dress in layers - I always wear a long-sleeve top or a turtle neck with a sweatshirt or sweater.
- I keep my feet warm by wearing socks and slippers indoors and wearing boots outdoors. I love wearing my Ugg boots.
- I put an extra blanket on my bed and wear socks when I first get into bed at night. I will later take them off when I'm warm. I like wearing warm PJs that are usually flannel.
- I always wear a scarf under my coat once December comes. I also wear leather gloves. If it's cold and windy out, I'll wear a hat. I hate wearing a hat because it makes my hair flat and staticky.
- I like to stay warm with a hot cup of coffee or tea.
- I love eating soup for lunch and dinner. A big bowl of soup always warms me up.
- During the day, we have the heat set at 70 degrees, but if I feel cold, I will turn up the heat to 71 or 72 degrees. At night, when we go to bed, we have the heat set at a lower temperature.
- I like to stay active, and I go to my gym or take an afternoon walk.
- I like taking a hot shower in the evening before I going to bed. This warms me up and it feels good after a long day.
These are some of the ways I like to stay warm in the winter. How do you stay warm in the winter?

Hi Julie, these are all great ideas for staying warm! I think I'm using them all right now. If it's very, very cold, we light a fire and put our clothes in the dryer for a bit before we put them on. Oh, and drinking a hot cup of tea, coffee or cocoa is always the best! x Karen
ReplyDeleteI often take my socks off mid-way through the night too but can't get into bed without them in winter. I don't like wearing hats because of my hair too but absolutely will if we're going to be outside for any real length of time. I try to get away with ear warmers instead whenever I can.
ReplyDeleteWe do a lot of the same things -- turtlenecks, slipper/socks, extra blankets, cocoa or tea and yes, cranking off the heat and occasionally wearing socks to bed. I've also bought those little hand warmers for cold mornings, especially when I type and can't wear gloves!
ReplyDeleteThese are making me feel so warm and cozy! Great ideas!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday Julie. These are all great ways and most of them I do myself. Have a great week. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteThank list for keeping warm and cozy Julie. Love bundling up on a cold winter day. At home, a cozy fire and a cup of cocoa, coffee or tea is always comforting. Happy new week.
ReplyDeleteAll about the layers here too!
ReplyDeleteAll of these tips made me think of life in England!
ReplyDeleteExcellent tips. I got myself a heating pad.. warms up my ice cold right up.
ReplyDeleteGreat tips! Over the last month or so I have been wearing socks to bed and I love the warm feeling that it gives. I am with you on not liking to wear a hat, it does my hair no favours at all!
ReplyDeleteWe don’t get as cold here in Texas, but I do wear socks and slippers in the house, warm my nightgown and towel in a towel warmer (it was the best gift!), and a take a bath every night before bed. I put socks on for bed but often take them off. Of course, hot tea always warms me up and my hands, too, by holding the mug or cup. Have a cozy week, Julie!
ReplyDeleteThese were great. I do some of these, but not all, as I run fairly hot so can't dress too warmly unless I can easily take layers off. I joined in this month as well.
ReplyDeleteWonderful suggestions. I always find it easier to warm up on a cold day than cool off on a hot day!
ReplyDeleteI always wear a scarf around my neck when temperatures are below 40. It really protects me from getting sore throats.
ReplyDeleteI also wear flannel pjs to bed in winter. It does help a lot with staying warm!
ReplyDeleteHi Julie - Great ideas! We do the same - lower the thermostat at night. I do it in the evening sometimes to enjoy the fireplace which throws a lot of heat. YES to soup - it is snowing and cold here and I have a crockpot of veggie soup cooking for supper. Books, tea, fire, cozy slippers, soup for supper = Bliss! Stay warm and enjoy winter!
