Hello friends.
It's the second Monday of the month, which means it's time for the Share Our Lives Link Up. This month's topic is How Do You Take a Break?
I have many ways I like to take a break, and here are just a few of them.
I love drinking coffee in the morning and in the afternoon. I drink regular coffee that I make in the coffee pot for me and my husband. In the afternoon I make espresso coffee for us in our espresso machine. If we are out, I like to have a latte or a cappuccino.
One way I take a break is by reading a book. I enjoy reading library books on my Kindle using the Libby app. I recently enjoyed reading Pumpkin Spice Cafe by Laurie Gilmore.
I enjoyed taking care of my little garden this summer. I grew peppers, basil, parsley, cucumbers, and watermelon.
I like taking a few classes a week at my gym - weights, pilates, and Zumba.
I go in spurts with crocheting. This summer I took a break, but I'm looking forward to starting up again this fall and winter. It's a great way to pass some time, and it relaxes me.
I used them to decorate my mantel for fall last year.
I enjoy going for morning or afternoon walks with Lucy.

You have a lot of nice ways to take a break! I like my afternoon coffee (and morning of course!) too. Lucy looks happy to take a walk anytime. Your garden is doing so well! I love seeing your crochet projects!
ReplyDeleteTaking a break is always needed. I, too love my morning coffee. In the winter, I enjoy a nice cup in the afternoon. Your pumpkin coasters are lovely, a great way to relax is crocheting.
ReplyDeleteYoga classes at the gym are definitely one way I take a break too.
ReplyDeleteI stay off social media most importantly, I read a book, meet up with friends/family and have long conversations. Sometimes I unwind by watching engaging movies.
ReplyDeleteJulie,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by!!! I enjoyed reading the ways you take a break!! It is something that I always have a hard time doing but over the last year and a half, I am learning to take that break and give myself Grace...It is important that we care for ourselves before we can care for others....
Hugs,

We are so similar...I love relaxing with all of these things especially the dog walking and reading!
ReplyDeleteI do many of these same things but didn't think of them as a "break" as I try to make them a regular part of life. Reading a book is probably my top way, especially if I have found one browsing at my local library. Listening to a Bible app or devotional podcast. Taking a walk or working out with a video. Another pleasure is playing Words with Friends-I tell myself it's good for my brain health so I don't feel guilty about wasting time. Unfortunately, I don't have a dog to walk, and sometimes wish I did.
ReplyDeleteYes taking a break with a book for sure! In fact, when I finish with work, I am heading upstairs to catch up on my reading and decompressing!
ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to enjoy a coffee on an afternoon but it really messes with me being able to sleep. Your little garden sounds wonderful, well done with the growing.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading about how you take a break, Julie. My morning ritual of breakfast and prayer time in bed starts my day. I do love my patio time, and gardening, and time at my fitness center.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a lovely week with lots of breaks!
I do love to go out and do something in the yard for a few minutes, especially when it's not too hot.
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas for taking a break, Julie! I am with you...a cup of coffee ( a local roaster here makes something called Jazzy Java ) and a few chapters of a good book. Then back to chores or a walk...and my favorite is reading a good book in a bubble bath. Don't do that as often as I would like, but with cooler weather in the Fall, it's a plan!
ReplyDeleteThose are all great ways of taking a break, very similar to what I do as well. I love that you take time to enjoy coffee. I tend to just drink it during the day as a habit.

Hi Julie, love all your ideas for taking a break. I like to take a coffee break, too. Starbuck's Breakfast blend for me, seeing I live near Seattle! Your little dog is just the cutest, and I love your pumpkin coasters. I love to read, too - lately books on deer-proofing my garden! Lol! Hope you enjoy these last few weeks of summer. xx K
ReplyDeleteAll your book sharing has inspired me, Julie. I started reading again and requesting books at the library. It's been a lovely afternoon break to read by the pool or at the beach!
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkin coasters are too cute!! I recently bought a walking pad, and I've used it to walk a bit in the evening and that has become an evening break for me.
