Wordless Wednesday - Winter Storm Jonas 2016

February 10, 2016

(And not so Wordless)

This is a photo I took, while I was looking outside my dinning room window when we had the blizzard.  It started snowing on January 22, 2016 until the 24th.  We had so much snow that it's total was 26 inches (2 feet).  There was so much snow outside that it came all the way up to the top of the car tires.  I love the way the snow drifts look.  We were so lucky that the snow melted within a few days.  Since then we had another small snow storm in total of 3 inches of snow.  This week we have also had a few snow flurries but no accumulation of snow.

Have you had any snow in your area this winter?

Thanks everyone and enjoy!

  1. OH! How perfectly delightful to have snow, dear Julie...something I long to see and experience! Here in South Africa...at least where I live...snow is not something we enjoy during the winter months. I loved this picture - made me feel like snuggling up with a good book and a mug of coffee...but I will try not to melt in this rather warm summer weather we are having right now! Hee!
    Hugs and love to you...

  4. Wow, I have never seen so much snow in my life! Here in Spain our winter has been unusually warm and very dry where I live, doesn't feel like winter at all. Enjoy the snow and stay warm. :-)

  6. Luckily where we live we normally get snow only a few inches at time. A few years ago we got a couple of feet at once like that. It is kind of fun (as long as it only happens once a decade or so!) Hopefully the groundhog was right and spring is on its way!

  7. Lovely to see the snow, Julie! It's pretty to play in, but not so pleasant to drive through! Glad you are having a milder winter this year! xx K

  10. Julie, yes we've had snow this year, but nothing to get excited over. I think this is the snowiest and coldest winter we've had in years. I'm ready for spring to get here. Thanks for stopping in and linking up! ;)

  11. Hi Julie! Oh, the snow is beautiful and you got a lot! All of those storms missed up but night before last we got about 3 or 4 inches. Last winter we were covered up. Thanks for popping in to see me and hope all is well with you.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  12. I don't mind the snow, as long as I don't need to go out in it! Heh. We've had a fairly mild winter in southern Ontario and received a couple of inches of the white stuff today.

  13. We only got a foot during that blizzard, even though we are only about 25 miles away. I hope it's the only big snow of the winter!

  17. Yes! I definitely got snow... perhaps even higher than that. Ours doesn't go away for probably another month or so!! Last year we still had some snow on the ground in April!!! But Winter has been more mild this year in Canada, so it's hard to say when Spring will arrive. We are minus 26 right now, so probably not soon. ha.

  18. We had a freak snowstorm last March here in Texas and I keep hoping it will happen again. Alas my bulb flowers are starting to rise so I think not. :( Enjoying your picture though.
