Merry Christmas 2014

December 19, 2014

Hi friends, I would love to show you a few Christmas decorations in my house this year.  We decided for the first time in many years to buy a real Christmas tree.  I had fun picking it out.  I just love the smell of pine when you walk into the room.  My tree is decorated with mostly handmade ornaments and the yo-yo garland that I made many years ago.  To see the post on how to make your own yo-yo garland in case you missed it you can click here.

This nativity set used to be my Mom and Dads.  My Mom and I bought the Santa hooked rug together.  In the photo below you can see the yo-yo garland that I made.

I love how colorful the tree is and looking at some of the ornaments that my daughter made when she was little.

The stockings hanging on the mantle were knitted for us by my Mom and I just love them.  My daughter and I made felt ornaments together the other night.  We had so much fun crafting together.  I love the tradition of decorating my house with handmade items.

I have kept the Christmas decorations very similar to last year except that we have a real tree.  To see how I decorated my house last year you can click here

WISHING YOU ALL A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR!

  1. Hi Julie, Your tree looks really beautiful! We haven't had a real tree in years, but they really are nice. Yours looks like a spruce - we have 3 spruce in our backyard. I also have two tiny conifers, a Fraser fir and an Eastern White pine that I bought to grow as personal Christmas trees. :) It'll be awhile.
Your mantel looks pretty too. I wish you and your family a joyous Christmas and a happy and healthy new year.

  11. I love all your handmade decorations. You have your own memory tree. I think it makes putting up the tree so much more fun seeing all the homemade ornaments again. We still have all the ornaments our children made when they were at school, despite them being a little battered now. Enjoy what's left of the weekend.
