Makeup Monday - e.l.f. Cosmetics

September 29, 2014

Welcome to Makeup Monday on Julie's Lifestyle.  Each Monday I will post about a certain type of makeup, nail polish, face or hair product etc.  It will be a fun place to come visit about anything to do with beauty.

WEEK 28 - e.l.f. Blush

Hi friends, I hope you all had a nice weekend.  I had to find out about all the hype on e.l.f. cosmetics, and by the way e.l.f. stands for eyes lips face!  I had been seeing so much on Pinterest and on beauty blogs about their cosmetics and never tried them before.  I decided to go to Target recently to buy some things that my family and I needed and discovered that Target sells their line of makeup.

I decided to buy just one item since I have never used any of their makeup before.  I bought their blush and I love the color I bought - it is called tickled pink.  It looks good on my skin and goes good with my blonde hair.  The blush is a light subtle color and it gives a soft and natural look.

I'm very happy with this blush and I would recommend it to you and you can't beat the price at $3.00.  The size and the packaging reminds me of the blush I just bought recently from NARS and I paid $30 for it!  To see that blog post in case you missed it, you can click HERE.

Here is the description on the back of the box for the blush:  The soft sheer texture blends into the skin for a silky finish.  Designed to be worn alone or layered for more depth.  Highlight your complexion with a subtle healthy glow.

Have you tried any e.l.f. cosmetics?  I hope I was helpful and maybe inspired you to try their makeup!

  2. Good morning Julie! A friend of mine gave me an e.l.f. blush, but it's in stick form. The color is pink lemonade and it smells good, too. It can also be worn on the lips. You can't beat their prices!!

  3. That is an amazing price. I think my daughter has E.L.F. in her room. I don't know if she has tried the blush. I'll pass along the good word though. :)

    Have a great Monday/week!

  4. Three dollars?? I am shocked, I have heard a lot about e.l.f. too, but I was convinced it was a pricey brand! Who knew? Thanks for the review. I may have to give it a shot!

  5. Hi Julie. We have a brand here in Australia called BYS that is similarly priced and great quality. I think there's plenty of great makeup out there that doesn't cost the Earth. We're all a bit brainwashed aren't we! Great post Julie :)

  10. That's an unbelievable price Julie! I never knew what elf stood for. Makes perfect sense and when you think about, that name is quite ingenious.

I'll be posting a full swatch and review of all the ELF lip products I own, (including the matte lip pencils), on the blog soon! 21. This definitely reminds me of NARS, I tried ELF when it first hit Australia, unfortunately I wasn't too pleased with the quality. Looks like it's been improved quite a bit since then!

  22. I love this shade of e.l.f. blush! I was just thinking it reminded me of my all time favourite blush, the NARS Orgasm blush when I saw your link to it!
