Crochet Potholders

August 8, 2014

The color of these potholders/dishcloths sure do remind me of fall and it's just around the corner.

I have been crocheting potholders lately and these are a fun and quick project to make.  I love crocheting these in the summertime when it is too hot to go outside.  I don't like working on anything heavy either like a blanket as it will be sitting on my lap.

I am making these and donating them for our annual Christmas Fair at my church.  The yarn that I used is Bernat, Handicrafter Cotton, Harvest Home Collection in the color Landscape.  This yarn was provided for me to use by my crochet group.  The crochet hook I used is US size H.

To see the pattern that I used to make these potholders please visit HERE and to visit my past blog post of the dishcloths I made click HERE.

I hope I've inspired you to make these fun and easy potholders.  These make great gifts for any occasion.

  7. The color landscape is the perfect name for that yarn....irt also reminds me of camouflage. You are such a gem crocheting things to help your church. I would not like working on blankets in the summer either...too hot! Have a blessed weekend.

  10. Julie - these look great! They sure do remind me of fall. I am not ready for it yet here though it is still very hot. I agree - I like to work on things indoors these days because of the heat and also smaller or lightweight projects are nice. I am currently knitting a short sleeve lace sweater in a light silk yarn and it is turning out nicely so far - kind of complicated though. Have a good evening! Kimberlee

  17. The colours definitely fit the name of the yarn collection well don't they! It is nice to have smaller makes for the summer as you say, as large things can be a bit cumbersome can't they. xx

  21. Thank you for sharing today at the Everyday Life Link party. I looked at the pattern for these pot holders. I am new to crocheting, and I think I will try this pattern. I agree with you, I have a baby blanket I started earlier this year, but in the summer months it bothered me to have it on my lap. I never thought about doing a smaller craft such as this to make for stocking stuffers.
    Thank you,
    Kathy

  22. Oh how pretty. I could see them in Christmas colors! I hope your sale goes well. My post for today (it's not up yet) is about serving but in a different way.
I am hoping to go buy some black yarn today. Call me crazy but I want to make some black dishcloths. I might go blind! Wish me luck!
    Have a good day.
